There’s something new brewing. Something so fresh it dazed the audience at Live The Venue at the Shield and Spear gig last week.
As part of the Durban International Film Festival, a gig was set up at Live The Venue to work hand in hand with the documentary Shield and Spear which screened at this year’s film festival.
The documentary is about censorship and freedom of expression in South Africa, 20 years after them dark days. It made my list of favourites at DIFF2014 so definitely check it out if you can.
The Brother Moves On is a band that is featured in the doccie so after the screening we headed off to watch them along with Samthing Soweto who opened for them.
This site is not about reviews so I’m just gonna leave you with some pics. But, if this band comes anywhere near where you live go check them out! Probably one of the best acts I have seen in forever.
Samthing Soweto is a soulful jazzy duo…a beautiful calm before a storm.
The Brother Moves on….the storm.
