Marielle and Leeroy’s wedding at Fordoun Wedding venue.
Winter is coming..oh wait winter is here! This wedding took place on one of the coldest days in Durban but that added to the magic of it all.
I met Marielle and Leeroy at Pim and Kate’s wedding which I shot in Mozambique. For those who follow my work will know that blog well.
I feel I won these two over while in Mozambique when I borrowed some sun cream from Marielle. As I was just about finished rubbing it in I realised my body was full of glitter! Apparently glitter suncream is a thing now. So I spent most of my day walking around looking like a disco ball. On the plus side I didn’t have to say “Smile” or “Cheese” to anyone as everyone had a good laugh.
We meet some months after (once my glitter had washed off) to shoot their Save the Date. They wanted to create an image that symbolised their journey together so we headed to the railway line at Stokers in Kloof to shoot this image. I loved how this image just came together. It really has that feeling of starting a new life…I suppose it helps that they look like movies stars 🙂
Fordoun is an amazing venue. Apparently we were one of the first weddings to be held there. A typically midlands setting with lots of room for us photographers to play with, I’m sure it is going to quickly become a favourite.
Have a look at Marielle and Leeroy’s magical day.
